URDHVA MUKHA SVANASANA

Upward Facing Dog Pose or Cobra

Effects

This asana rejuvinates the vertebral column and is particularly recommended to those that suffer from back stiffness. The posture reinforces the spinal column and cures back pain. Due to expansion of the chest, the lungs gain elasticity. Equally, the posture promotes good blood circulation in the pelvic region which it maintains in a healthy state.

UTTHITA PARSVAKONASANA

Extended Side Angle Pose

This asana posture tones the ankes, knees and muscles. It corrects defects the knee pits (or back of the knee) and thighs while developing the chest. It also reduces fat around the waist and hips. It equally works to alleviate pains resulting from sciatica and arthritis. It also increases intestinal peristalsis promoting movement through the digestive system and out of the body.

Triangle Pose

This asana tones the leg muscles, eliminating rigidity of the hips and legs. At the same time it corrects any minor deformities of these areas contributing to their natural development. It also alleviates any back pain and torticollis, while reinforcing the ankles and developing the thorax.

This asana reinforces and shapes the leg muscles. It relieves calf muscle and thigh muscles cramps and provides flexibility to the legs and back muscles. At the same time it alos tones the abdominal organs.

In this posture the chest is expanded in full to facilitate deep breathing. It reduced the shoulders’ and back’s rigidity. It tones the ankles and knees. It treats stiffness in the neck and equally works to reduce fat in the hip area.
